Increase Fees in the Master Fee Schedule

You can use the Change Fees utility to increase the fees in the Master Fee Schedule by a given percentage. Fee increases will be done primarily by those practices that charge above and beyond the recommended rates in the Master Fee Schedule, or if they wish to round off fees.
Note: Make sure all copies of the scheduler and patient records are closed before starting the utility.

To Increase Fees in the Master Fee Schedule:

  1. Click the Utilities menu and choose Change Fees.
The Change Fee Selection dialog box appears:

    LS

    Cloud & Local+
  2. Click the Change or Restore Fees in the Master Fee Schedule by a Percentage button.
The Change Fees dialog box appears:

    LS

    Cloud & Local+
  3. In the For Codes list, choose the procedures codes to which you want the fee changes to apply. Either accept the default selection of all codes (00001 to 99999), or enter a custom range of codes.
  4. In the Percentage increase/decrease (+/-) field, do one of the following
    1. Accept the default % percent shown
    2. Type a different percentage
    3. Type “0” if no increase or decrease is to be applied
  5. If you want to round the resulting fees, click the Round to the Nearest Dollar box
  6. Once the change fee utility is run, the following rounding will occur
    1. All fees with cents between $0.01 and $0.49 are rounded down. For example, if a starting fee of $12.12 is given an increase of 3% which equals $12.483, the final fee will be rounded down to $12.00
    2. All fees with cents between $0.50 to $0.99 are rounded up. For example, if a starting fee of $12.12 is given an increase of 5% which equals $12.726, the final fee will be rounded up to $13.00
  7. To make a backup of your Master Fee Schedule, type the name of the backup in the Preserve My Current Fees in a Special Fee Schedule Called field. Although, the default name is “Back”, it is recommended that you type a more unique name so you will know which one to restore, if necessary. For example, use the month or year in the name, such as “09bak”
  8. Click OK to run the utility, or Cancel if you change your mind and decide not to run the utility
