How Can I Track Lab Cases?



Summary:

1. Click the icon on the Scheduler toolbar.
      The Lab Cases window appears listing each of your unresolved cases.
      For each lab case shown, the Patient, Dentist and Lab name are shown along with the following additional information:
  • Date Sent: If the case has been sent to the dental lab the date and time it was sent will be displayed. If not, "N/A" will be shown.
  • Date Returned: If the case has been returned from the lab, the date and time is was returned. If no, "N/A" will be shown.
  • Status: The current status of the lab case:
    • To be Sent indicates the case has not yet been sent to the lab. This is the default state for each lab case.
    • Sent indicates the case has been sent to the lab for processing.
    • Returned indicates the case has been returned from the lab.
    • Completed indicates the case has been returned and the procedure for the patient is complete.
    • Cancelled indicates that you have cancelled the lab case.
Note: By default, lab cases that are  "Completed" or "Cancelled" are not shown on the Lab Case list; however, you can use the Filter State option to display these cases. See "Filter Cases in the List" below.
       Note: Displays any meaningful notes you entered regarding the lab case when it was attached to an appointment.
 
You can view and edit a lab case that was attached to an appointment directly from the Lab Cases list
To Change the Status or Edit a Lab Case:
1. On the Lab Cases list, right-click on the lab case and choose Edit/View Lab Case.
    The Edit/View Lab Case dialog appears.
2. To change the Status, click the down-arrow and choose a status from the list—To be Sent, Sent, Returned, Completed, Cancelled.
3. To edit, move through the information shown and make your changes.
4. Click Save to return to the Lab Case list.
    Any changes you made will be reflected in the Lab Case list.
 
1. On the Lab Cases list, right-click anywhere and choose View Lab Details.
    The Lab Details dialog appears.
2. In the Labs list, click on the lab whose details you want to view.
    The details are shown on the Lab Info tab. Click the Notes tab to view any notes regarding the lab.
3. To edit the information, move through the fields and make your changes.
4. Click OK to exit.
 
1. On the Lab Cases list, right-click anywhere and choose View All Lab Cases.
    All lab cases including those that have been Cancelled or Completed are shown.
 
You can filter the lab cases so that only those that are in a specific state will be shown. For example, you may only want to view those lab cases that have been returned.
To Filter the Lab Cases:
1. To filter the lab cases by the current State, right-click and choose Filter States.
2. Click to remove the check mark beside the States you do not want displayed. 
3. Only those cases that match the State(s) you selected will be listed.
