Disable MS Security Essentials

Summary:

"Could not lock file" message when installing updates

Error when installing abeldent (Could not lock file). This error is caused by Microsoft Security Essentials. This is likely a popular product that has been installed on a lot of offices. Microsoft has updated it recently and this has made it more strict. Offices will have to disable this product before loading the new update.

This could happen with any version of abeldent if they are using Microsoft Security Essentials. This program does not allow the scripts adddata.scp and usergroups.scp to run successfully

To disable MSE from starting up:

Click Start
Search programs and files
type Services.msc
Enter
Scroll down to the service Microsoft Antimalware Service
Set the Startup Type to Manual or Disable
