The Accounting Date is earlier than the System Date

Summary:

To properly post and balance each day’s transactions, you must change the accounting date to the current date at the start of each working day. To make sure it is changed, ABELDent will automatically prompt you to use the current system date (the date on your computer) as the accounting date when the first person in your office logs on for the day.

IMPORTANT: If you choose not to use the system date as the accounting date, you will have to run the daily Cash Summary Report at the end of each day and manually set the Accounting Date.

Steps:

To Use the System Date as the Accounting Date:

1. Log on to ABELDent and if you are the first user of the day, the following message will appear.

2. Click Yes to change the accounting date to match the system date, or click No to continue using the outdated  Accounting date (not recommended).

If the Accounting Date is Earlier than the System Date by more than 3 days:

1. After you log on, the following message appears.

2. Click Yes to use the System date or No to continue using the outdated Accounting Date (not recommended).

IMPORTANT: If you choose not to use the System date as the Accounting date in either of the above scenarios you will have to manually set the Accounting Date, but only after running the daily Cash Summary report.

To Change The System Date to Match the Accounting Date:

1. Log on to ABELDent

2. If the system date is EARLIER than the accounting date or the accounting date is LATER than the system date, a message will appear prompting you to check that the system date is correct.
3. Click OK and verify the system date.
