Embedding Lab Codes In Treatment Amounts



Summary:

Available in ABELDent SQL v13.4 or later.

When paying claims, some insurance carriers do not want lab code fees included (embedded) in the treatment amount on the Insurance form; instead, they would prefer the lab code and fee to be shown on a separate line.

In view of this, you can choose to either leave a lab code and fee embedded in the treatment amount OR show the lab code and fee on a separate line on the insurance claim form


Steps:

1. Click Update > Master Fee Schedule.
   
2. Select the applicable lab code (99111 to 99555) and do one of the following:

  • If you want the lab code to be included in the treatment amount on the insurance form. click Embedded
  • If you want the lab code to be shown on a separate line, leave the Embedded check box blank.
