Technical/Professional Split Production Report



Summary:

Setting up technical/professional splits and running the technical production report. The technical/professional splitting of fees is normally required by the accountant who wants to see a breakdown between the actual cost of performing a procedure versus the professional portion of the fee. The procedure codes and their associated technical percentages should come from the accountant 


Steps:​​​

  1. Open ABELDent.
  2. Select Reports, Financial, Production, Technical Production.
  3. Using the default date range, click OK, preview the report, and click Close. This will create a default record in the TEC table to enable the setup of procedure code ranges and their associated technical percentages.
  4. Select Reports, Financial, Production, Edit Technical Percentages. Result: the Tech Split Schedules dialog box will appear with the default date of 01/JAN/70.
  5. To create a new date, select the default date, right-click and select Copy to a New Range.
  6. Enter the date as the day before you wish the new technical percentages to take effect. Example, if you wish to begin the technical percentages on 01/JAN/00, enter the date 31/DEC/99. Click OK.
  7. To create new procedure code ranges, select the new date, right-click and select Modify Range. Result: The Code Ranges dialog box will appear with the default range of 00000 to 99999 @ 0%.
  8. Select the default range, right-click and select Add a New Range. Result: The Add New Code Range dialog box will appear.
  9. Enter the first code of the range for which you wish to set a technical percentage, and click OK. Result: The Technical Percentage Update dialog box will appear.
  10. Enter the last code of the range in the To Code field; enter the technical percentage for the range in the Technical Percentage field; enter the decimal percentage in the Decimal Percent field, if required; enter a code range description in the Description field, and click OK.
  11. Perform steps 8 through 10 until all code ranges are added. When complete, click OK twice to close the windows.
  12. To generate the Technical Production report, select Reports, Financial, Production, Technical Production from the ABELDent main screen. Result: The Production with Technical Split dialog box will appear.
  13. Enter the report date range, and then click OK.
  14. Click OK to print the report or Preview to view on screen.
  15. The report will display totals for production per provider and practice and show the technical and professional portions of the total fees charged.
