Erasing Credit Card Information in ABELDent

Applies to ABELDent v13.4 or later
To make sure your office is in compliance with the new PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard you will no longer be able to store patient credit card numbers in ABELDent.
To help you comply with this regulation, a new ABELDent utility has been created for 13.4 that can be used to:
- Print a list of the credit card numbers you currently have in the system
- Erase the credit card number from the ABELDent system.
TIP: Although you can no longer store credit card numbers in ABELDent, there are third-party PCI DSS compliant credit card payment services that will store and process your credit card payments for you. Search the Internet for a service that meets your needs.
Steps:
1. Click Utilities > Print/Remove Card Info Utility.
The Print/Remove Credit Card Info Utility dialog appears.
2. Read the information shown.
3. To print your existing credit card numbers, click the Print Credit Card Information button.
The list of credit card numbers in your system will appear in the Credit Card Details- Report.
4. Once you’ve printed the list, click the Erase Credit Card Information button.
A message will appear showing the number of credit cards that were erased.
