Family Deductible
Summary:
This document explains how to setup a family's yearly deductibles in ABELDent.
Steps:
- Open the subscribers insurance tab
- Click on the button with the three dots (Browse)
- The Insurance Plans File Update window opens
- Click on the Setup Coverage button
- In the Deductibles field enter in the yearly individual deductible on basic and major services along with the family's yearly deductible in the following format: BM25,F150
BM stands for basic and major services
$25 is the yearly individual deductible
$150 is the family's yearly deductible limited to $150 - Enter in the anniversary date in the Ann: field

To verify BM25,F150 means $25 yearly individual and $150 family yearly deductible you can click on the Explain button beside the Deductibles: field which will display how the rule was understood in words by ABELDent.
When entering in the dollar amount in the deductible rule do not use the $ in front of the dollar amount.
When entering in large dollar amounts in the deductible rule do not put a comma or space.
Do not enter a dollar amount with cents. The program only recognizes whole dollar amounts. For example ABELDent cannot read $49.95 you will have to either round up to $50.00 or down to $49.00.
When entering in a deductible rule there is one limitation: no class letter may appear in more than one rule for a given entity and time period. For an example refer to help files in ABELDent under Deductibles and Maximums.
