When to Print Statements?

Explanation

ABELDent recommends that statements be printed on a "weekly basis" opposed to "monthly" for the following reasons:

If you only print statements at the end of each month, there will always be accounts which have not yet fallen into the 'OVER 30 DAYS DUE' category. Maybe they are only 29 days overdue? These accounts would therefore not receive a statement until you print them the following month; at which point they are already almost 60 days overdue! statement until you print them the following month; at which point they are already almost 60 days overdue! However, if you print statements every week, accounts like this will not be allowed to become excessively overdue.

By printing statements weekly, accounts will still only receive a statement every 28 days (according to the statement printing parameter setup rules), but they will definitely never be outstanding for so long.  You will also be printing out a smaller number of statements, since some are printed each week and not a large volume only one time a month.  This makes the job of staying on top of the AR's much easier.
