ABELDent Insurance Carrier Setup 

Summary:

The insurance carrier update file contains all the information necessary for electronic submission of bills that will be made to insurance plans. The following are instructions on updating current insurance carrier information or adding new carriers.

Adding a new carrier to the insurance carrier file:

1. From the insurance menu at the top of the ABELDent screen click Insurance -> Carriers
2. Click the add button at the bottom of the insurance carrier list and type in the name of your new insurance carrier then click OK.
3. Add the EDI Carrier ID by typing in the correct number as indicated by the insurance carrier.
4. Click on the drop down menu and select the correct EDI Network(ACE-NDC, SHN or ica-iTrans)
5. Enter the correct CDAnet Version as indicated by the insurance company.
6. Click OK to save the information.

1. From the insurance menu at the top of the ABELDent screen click Insurance -> Carriers
2. Select the carrier that needs to be updated from the list of insurance carriers.
3. If required, modify the EDI Carrier ID by typing in the correct number as indicated by the insurance carrier.
4. Click on the drop down menu and select the correct EDI Network(ACE-NDC, SHN or ica-iTrans)
5. Enter the correct CDAnet Version as indicated by the insurance company.
6. Click OK to save the information.

1. From the insurance menu at the top of the ABELDent screen click Insurance -> Plans
2. Select the insurance plan you want to link to a carrier.
3. Click on the select/edit carrier button.
4. Select the correct carrier from the list in the Insurance Carrier File Update window.
5. Click OK to save the carrier information.
6. Click OK to save the plan information.

This process updates all patient files connected to this insurance plan.
