ABELDent Bridge to VixWin32
Summary:
The following instructions are designed to assist you with the bridge between ABELDent and VixWin32.
Steps:
To ensure that images scanned into ABELDent are backed up, you must create a shared drive letter or a folder on the Server to act as a repository. Also, each workstation running the VixWin32 program must be mapped back to the shared drive letter or folder on the Server.
1. Create a map from the Workstation to the Server. Ensure that the map is set to be restored upon boot up.
2. Put the VixWin32 CD in your CD drive and install the VixWin32 program.
3. With the VixWin32CD in your CD drive, double click My Computer on the desktop.
4. Click on the CD drive icon.
5. Right-click to get a menu.
6. Click on Open.
7. Double-click on the Utilities folder.
8. Double-click on the DBMode folder.
9. Double-click on Setup.exe.
Simply follow the vxDBmode Setup prompts and accept the default values.
10. When the vxDBMode setup program has finished, start ABELDent.
11. Once you are in ABELDent, open any patient file on your system.
12. From the File menu, select Integrations Setup.
13. Select the appropriate software from the Integrations Setup window. For example, VixWin.
14. Click the Activate button on the right side of the Integrations Setup window.
15. Find the VixWin.exe file on your local hard drive and click on VixWin.exe.
16. Click Open.
17. Click Close.
18. Exit the ABELDent program
19. Click the Start button in the lower left hand corner of the screen.
20. Click Programs.
21. Select vxDBmode.
Currently the Show DBmode is registered as 1.
22. Click once on the Set DBmode 0 button.
A (0) will appear above the EXIT button.
23. Click once on the EXIT button.
24. Go back into ABELDent and open any patient file on your system.
25. Click on File, select Export Patient.
26. From the Choose folder, highlight the mapped drive letter or folder.
27. Click on the Select button.
*Remember to repeat this process on all Workstations running the VixWin32
