Month End Reports in ABELDent

Explanation:

There is no requirement for closing off a month end in ABELDent. Simply run the regular daily reports for the last working day in the month and change the accounting date to the next working day in the following month.

Each Dental Office may setup their own custom month end reporting based on their specific needs.

More Information:

The only required report printing in ABELDent, is the Day End Cash Summary must be previewed/printed before you may change the accounting date to the next working date.  No other report printing is a REQUIREMENT.

However, there are many reports available, that may be printed at month end or for a monthly date range which may be prudent to print.

Examples of some of the most common month end reports are listed below, however, please review all available reports to devise your own month end reporting procedures:

Summarized Daily Totals:  This report is commonly printed for all dentists. It displays total values for each transaction type (fees, payments, write-offs, etc.) for each day within a selected period and overall totals for the period in an extremely condensed format. There are no patient details on this report.

Aged Receivables - Patient:  This report prints all outstanding patient account balances. This report displays the amount owed to the practice directly from your patients.

Aged Receivables - Insurance:  This report shows the amount owed by patients from their insurance companies. Your office has accepted direct assignment from your patients' insurance company for their services. Outstanding balances are reported in aged categories.  Use this information to determine which insurance balances require followup; phone calls to the insurance company and/or to the patient.

Comparison Production:  This report compares the number of services provided and the fee charged for procedure codes or groups of procedure codes in two different time periods.  It also compares the production totals for the two time periods.

Production Totals:  This single page report prints production totals for each provider, and each financial practice, for any single day or range of dates. Production totals include the number of patients and the total fees accumulated.  The Production Totals report allows you to calculate the production totals for either a provider, or an entire practice. Also, if a provider is working for two separate practices, this report can be set to show the provider’s production totals between the two practices. For example, a hygienist working for two dentists may have the production totals she accumulated for each doctor printed separately on the Production Totals report as well as her overall production total.

Insurance Transactions:  This report prints all patients with an outstanding insurance claim for a specified date range.  It allows you to identify claims that are outstanding and may need to be reprinted or resubmitted.  The report may be printed at month end or periodically to identify insurance claims that have been outstanding for three weeks or longer that may require re-submission or follow-up.

NOTE:  it is not necessary to print any of the reports on the actual last working day of the month;  any reports may be printed at a later time since ABELDent allows you to enter the date range when running many reports.
